Imran Khan Facing Arrest

Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, has been detained outside the High Court in Islamabad, the country's capital.

Mr Khan was showing up in court on charges of defilement, which he says are politically propelled.

After Mr. Khan entered the courthouse, footage showed dozens of paramilitary forces in armored vehicles detaining him and driving him away.

He was removed as PM in April last year and has been lobbying for early decisions from that point forward.

General races are because of be held in the not so distant future.

The supporters of Mr. Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party have been asked to demonstrate. In the hours since he was confined, viciousness has been accounted for from various urban areas including Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar.

One of the main highways into and out of Islamabad has been blocked by hundreds of protesters on the streets.

Individuals pulled down road signs and portions of over passes, got fires going and tossed rocks. We did not observe any authorities or police during the hour or so the BBC was present.


The arrest of Imran Khan reportedly sparked outrage among protesters.



Farida Roedad stated, "This is absolutely the last straw." "What else can we do? What else remains of Pakistan? I wish we had spoken out against the army, but we haven't.

"Let there be disorder and anarchy. Nothing will remain in Pakistan without Imran. There is no one in charge.

Twitter footage from Lahore appeared to show a crowd breaking into the house of the military corps commander and destroying the furniture and other belongings inside.
